I just read a Len Pasquerelli article on ESPN. It mentioned Thomas, but said how he "lost his starting job to Cedric Benson late in the year." This is the second time I've seen an article by Len say that Thomas wasnt the starter...am I missing something here? I thought Thomas has started every game this year, save maybe 1?? Benson got more carries at the end but i didnt think he was the starter.
Unless I am mistakingyou are right, Thomas has started every game this year.
Bears want & need a QB, So they will trade TJ while he's a hot property and it will be good for him, he will be able to get a good contract to carry him into his 30's. He's proven himself, he'll never be worth more than he is now. It's all buisness.
Didn't Benson start the second round playoff game?
No sir, TJ came in for the first two series.
In the previous 6 or 7 games for the Bears TJ starts and plays the first 2 series and then Benson comes in for 2 series then Jones would then come back in. They kinda switched back and forth of the last half of the season but Thomas did start.
I think Thomas is gone out of Chicago even after his performance throughout the playoffs........I think Benson is a good back and may or may not turn into something great for Chicago. I just don't see how you can get rid of a back that has put up back to back 1000 yard seasons......I know alot say thats not hard to do in the NFL, but thats two great seasons from him, he had a great run in the playoffs and I think the bears would be crazy to trade him.....I say keep him and benson both and let benson pound the ball up the middle and then TJ break loose to the outside........Thomas showed he can run between the tackles quite a bit!!!
They need to find them a new QB...........Rex played possibly the worse game he could of played, even though the weather was bad thats no excuse........Peyton didn't seem to have that problem!!!
I just hope no matter where Thomas ends up he has a good season and makes the Bears regret trading him if they do!!
I've always looked at it like this, when the weather is horrible outside, raining, snowing, muddy, or whatever, that's when a Chicago Bear should be playing his best and a DOME team would fail. However, it was simple put up or shut up and the Colts offense made a mockery of the bears defense. Like i've said before, the best players for both teams were Addai, Rhodes, and Jones.
